Office Re-open

As we work to reopen our office this letter describes a little of what to expect as we welcome you all back.

Hello to all our valued patients! We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We have missed you all greatly. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that might be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agency’s recommendations and any new findings and research.

As we continue to fight these pandemic things, we are doing at our office besides keeping up-to-date with all infection control protocols include:

  • We will contact you prior to your appointment to pre-screen you with a series of questions to determine your risk of exposure or exposing other to coronovirus. This is for the benefit of all our patients and staff.  Our staff will be screened as well at the start of each day.
  • We will ask you to wear your own mask before entering the office.  There will hand sanitizer at the front door to use as you enter.  The mask should be worn at all times when you are not receiving treatment. We will provide a mask if you do not have one but, like all health care providers, we only have access to limited PPE and ask that you bring your own if possible.
  • You will be briefly screened again as you enter the office.  We will repeat our screening questions and check your temperature.  These steps are to further ensure the safety of all our patients and staff.
  • We will continue to practice social distancing. We will have fewer patients in the office at any given time and we will have you spend only a limited time in our waiting area.
  • Please do not arrive earlier than your appointment time. In order to restrict the number of people in our waiting area and to make sure your treatment room is available we will ask that you arrive as close as possible to your appointment time.
  • We will ask you to come alone if possible.  If you are unable to come alone or have had oral sedation, we do want someone bringing you to the office, as always.  They are required to wear a mask and will fill out the screening questionnaire.  We will ask them not to remain in the office; we can call them towards the end of your appointment.

Other safety measures in the office include screening all employees and logging their temperatures daily. All the staff, including the front office, will be wearing a mask for your safety and their own.  We have installed new air purifiers that help to reduce and destroy allergens, bacteria and viruses in the air in all the treatment rooms and front office. We will do our best to continue providing the highest quality of care. Minimizing any inconvenience as we work to reopen in the safest way possible and continue to strive towards flattening the curve.

We look forward to seeing you all again as safely as possible. We will continue to prioritize urgent needs and wait on any elective cosmetic procedures at this time. We will also recommend those with pre-existing health conditions or over the age of 60 delay routine care for a while longer. If you are in a high-risk category and have an emergent or urgent need, please inform the staff and we recommend scheduling at 8 AM or as early in the day as possible to minimize the number of people you may come in contact with.

Please do not make an appointment if you have been ill with flu like symptoms, or around someone that has been ill with suspected Covid-19 in the last 14 days, traveled to areas at high risk, or have recently lost sense of taste or smell.

We are truly in this together and will emerge stronger than before. Please call us with any questions or concerns. Continue to brush floss and smile frequently!

Smiles always,
